In a viral social media video, Adebayor criticized Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara for not taking proactive steps in advocating for electoral justice.
According to Adebayor, while the APC has been actively engaging with the public through party registration activities, reaching out across the country via various media outlets, Dr. Kamara has not shown the same level of leadership or action.
“We see when the APC said they are going with the party registration activities, they went out all over the country, district to district, Radio, TV…, Samura Kamara is talking about electoral Justice. He sat down in his house with no information on how we would go about it.”
Adebayor urged Dr. Kamara to take a more hands-on approach by traveling from district to district, speaking on radio and television, and outlining a clear plan for electoral justice.
He emphasizes that a large majority of the Sierra Leonean population desires electoral justice but need a leader to guide them in achieving it.
“If you know you are ready for this thing, then stop wasting time. Go from district to district, region to region. Tell people the plan and take action on it.”
“99% of people in Sierra Leone want electoral justice. But you need to come out, so we follow you. Samura Kamara come out if you mean what you are talking. It is not about talking or holding meetings,” Adebayor said.
He also addressed rumours concerning Abdul Kargbo, the APC Leader in Parliament, clarifying that his meeting with Dr. Kamara was intended to promote peace, and dismissed the notion that Kargbo was there to beg Kamara.
Furthermore, Adebayor accused Dr. Kamara of isolating himself and acting as if the party has distanced itself from him, rather than the other way around.
