Deputy National Fullah Tribal Chief, Alhaji Mohamed Lamrana Goubel Sow, has donated NLe200,000 to support the expansion of Jamiul Atiq Masjid at the Fourah Bay Road community, east of Freetown.

He told the sod-turning ceremony on Sunday, 2 February 2025, to accommodate its growing congregation, that the contribution was made on behalf of the Fullah Chieftaincy as a gesture of support to the Muslim community.

He noted that despite receiving the invitation late, they remained committed to assisting in projects that promote Islam and serve the community.

The masjid committee expressed deep gratitude for the donation, highlighting its significance in expanding prayer spaces and enhancing facilities for men and women.

Religious leaders and community elders present at the event commended the Deputy Chief and the Chieftaincy for their generosity and ongoing dedication to Islamic development.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the donors and the successful completion of the expansion, which is expected to provide more comfortable worship space for the growing number of congregants.
