The new date for the Ordinary Congress is said to be held on Saturday 26th April, 2025. This new date is followed after the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Thomas Daddy Brima left the venue at Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel at Aberdeen, Freetown unceremoniously.
The SLFA Ordinary Congress was intended to set the stage for this year's Elective Congress, but it was unexpectedly postponed after the SLFA President left the venue without the knowledge of football stakeholders.
The Satellite has, however, gathered that despite another date has been announced for the Ordinary Congress, the SLFA President is reportedly fanning the flame of discord by surreptitiously orchestrating plans to frustrate football stakeholders so that he would prolong his stay in office to manipulate his second term in office.
The SLFA Boss is reportedly advancing flimsy excuses to boycott the Ordinary Congress again slated over the weekend based on his alleged pending travel to attend international football assignment abroad.
The SLFA President is also allegedly feigning a situation that will appear as if the government is behind his recent predicament, when he and two other SLFA officials were arrested and detained for alleged embezzlement of US$72000 that was meant for the development of football in the country.
Very recently, the SLFA Acting Secretary General claimed that the Sierra Leone U-20 Shooting Stars were not getting any support from the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL).
In his response, the Director of National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai Esq., in no uncompromising stance, debunked the SLFA Acting Secretary General's claims.
According to Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, the government is fully committed to supporting the team, noting that the government is providing air tickets for the entire team, with each ticket costing over one thousand United States Dollars.
The Director further disclosed that the government is also working diligently to raise over US$100, 000 to support the team's preparations and participation in the tournament in Egypt.
