The National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has conducted successful exploration in Ghana on strategic model of operation with the sister authority, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) in Ghana.

The engagement aims at giving deep dive regulatory frameworks to NPRA on NPA’s sound petroleum deliveries that would seamlessly be implemented at the Sierra Leone’s Petroleum Industry with focus on improved technical advancements, sound public policies and the effective human resources management.

The head of delegation, Madam Wuyata Deen Swarray who is equally the Director of Policy and Planning Development at the National Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA) notes that NPA’s management has had a broad-spectrum of key regulatory policies with the Sierra Leone’s delegation that have positioned the Ghana’s Petroleum Industry as one of the most efficient oil industries in the sub- region.

Madam Swarray said NPRA has been on a steady pace in the last two years with consistent international best practices being developed and implemented which drive the Authority growth and stability, noting that the management of NPRA is still open up to more reforms and foreign expertise that would create conducive ambiance in the Sierra Leone’s Downstream Sector in order to ensure that domestic, foreign investors and end-users see themselves as likeminded people in the industry.

Welcoming the Sierra Leone’s delegation, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) in Ghana, Godwin Kudzo Tamelko Esq. commended the delegation for considering the Ghanaian’s petroleum industry to tap into their strategic framework policies, describing it as apparent testament to the Authority’s progress and effectiveness over years.

NPA CEO expressed appreciation for the visit and urged the delegation to adopt the ongoing international best practices and implement those policies in Sierra Leone which have the proclivity to expand and drive development policies and Africa’s energy sector.
