His Excellency President Dr. Julis Maada Bio on Tuesday approved four appointments in his government. Amongst the four appointees is the erstwhile Deputy Minister of Communications, Technology and Innovation, Ibrahim Sannoh, who the President has appointed as the new Minister of Youth Affairs.
The appointments of the four individuals are expected to strengthen governance and enhance service delivery in their respective sectors.

According to Amb. Momoh Foday (De’ Social Change Activist), “In the world of politics, two virtues stand as pillars of smile and success: patience and loyalty.
These values are not merely abstract concepts, but fundamental principles that drive political smile. SP Sannoh, the newly appointed Minister of Youth Affairs, is a prime example of these qualities in action. His unwavering loyalty to President Bio during the most challenging times has earned him a place of distinction.
“SP Sannoh was there for President Bio when the latter had nothing. Long before the promise of power and success, he stood by the President during his initial campaign, carrying the weight of his cause on his shoulders. His commitment wasn’t driven by the allure of political gain but by a deep belief in the potential of President Bio’s vision for the country.
This kind of loyalty – where one serves with conviction and patience, even in the face of adversity - is what defines true leadership and the essence of political solidarity.”
Another admirer of Ibrahim Sannoh, Political Mufti, wrote: “From carrying speakers on his head to now carrying a full ministerial portfolio, the new Minister of Youth Affairs (Ibrahim Sannoh) is living proof that loyalty ‘no dey’ waste! This is a man who didn’t just talk and talk, he danced the campaign dance, sweated in the trenches, and stayed true to SLPP and President Bio since time immemorial!
“Today, his patience has paid off, no longer carrying sound systems, he’s now carrying the aspirations of the nation’s youth. Call it divine promotion or political prophecy fulfilled, but one thing is sure: in the SLPP, na real loyalty ‘dey’ trend.”
A long-time friend and colleague of Ibrahim Sannoh, Dr. Alhaji K. Tarawally, states: “Ibrahim's appointment comes at a critical juncture for Sierra Leone, especially for its youth. The nation grapples with significant challenges, including rampant youth unemployment and the growing scourge of drug and narcotics abuse among young people. Additionally, the advent of new media technologies presents both opportunities and hurdles for aspiring entrepreneurs and policymakers.
As highlighted by the World Bank, youth unemployment in Sierra Leone is alarmingly high, exceeding global averages, with over 80% of young people out of work. Furthermore, the UNODC has reported a disturbing rise in drug abuse among the youth, a trend that endangers our nation's future.
“Yet, amidst these challenges, there lies tremendous potential. Ibrahim's fervour for youth development, combined with his dynamic and proactive approach to success, positions him perfectly to lead the charge. His prior leadership roles, as demonstrated in his work with various governance responsibilities under the Bio Administration and youth-focused initiatives, have given him the insights and resolve necessary to confront these issues head-on. His appointment is laudably timely for Sierra Leone's youth.”
