With Sierra Leone poised to be the next host of the 3rd UN Tourism Regional Gastronomy Forum, the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Nabeela Farida Tunis, led her Ministry and its Agencies on a food tasting event at the Cole Street Restaurant in Kingtom.

Chef Miatta Mark and her staff presented an array of dishes, all of which were home-made. From Acaraje, Huntu, Ros Bif, Kontri Fol Croquettes, Fry Cassada, Dessert, to juices - Cole Street Restaurant perfectly delivered the taste of Sierra Leone. Complimenting the palatability and nutritional value of the dishes on display, Director of Tourism, Travel and Exchange Programs Mohammed Jalloh expressed enthusiasm in the bright prospects of Sierra Leone's Culinary industry.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Kwame Yankson emphasized that Sierra Leone is ready to promote its rich and nuanced delicacies to the nook and cranny of the world.

The Minister Nabeela Farida Tunis remarked that the gesture aligns with the wider vision of the Year of Ecotourism campaign: connecting culture, conservation and communities. She further noted that the effort is testament to Sierra Leone's readiness to host the third UN Tourism Gastronomy Forum Africa in 2026.

Minister Nabeela also commended Chef Miatta not just for the well-prepared meals but also the warmth and professionalism of the staff.
