Pavifort, a Sierra Leonean Civil Engineering & Construction firm offering design, build, preconstruction, construction management and contracting services, has dismissed claims that a US$67 million government payment led to Sierra Leone’s suspension from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank programs.

The company clarified that no such payment was ever made and described the allegations as “factually incorrect, misleading, and lacking any basis in official documentation or financial procedure.”

“There has been no official statement from either the IMF or the World Bank indicating that Sierra Leone has been suspended from any of their ongoing programs,” the company states.

“Both the Government of Sierra Leone and these international institutions follow strict transparency protocols, and no such narrative is supported by credible evidence.”
The CEO of Pavifort also defended the company’s reputation and regional credibility, saying: “Pavifort has consistently delivered on critical infrastructure projects—roads, ports, and municipal works—across several African countries in full compliance with procurement laws and international engineering standards.”

“The notion that we were paid for non-existent projects is unsubstantiated and ignores how large-scale infrastructure contracts are administered.”

The company also advised that politicising legitimate development financing and misrepresenting partnerships with credible firms could damage Sierra Leone’s investment image.

“This kind of misinformation erodes public trust and distracts from real issues that deserve attention,” Barrie added.
Pavifort called on the public and media to rely on verified information and avoid spreading rumours that undermine national credibility.
