Sierra Leone’s Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh on Saturday 24th May, 2025 visited the MPOX treatment facility at the Police Training School in Hastings on the outskirts of Freetown, where he praised ongoing response efforts and confirmed significant progress in patient recovery across the country.

“I was pleased to see the great progress first-hand on the response effort,” VP Juldeh Jalloh said after touring the facility. “While new cases continue to be identified in the Western Area and other parts of the country, the recovery rate is very high.”

According to the Vice President, Sierra Leone has recorded about 1,630 recoveries nationwide in recent days, with 18 patients discharged from the Hastings treatment centre alone.
