Twenty-three (23) Lieutenant Colonels have been promoted to Colonels on the advice of the Defence Council and as part of the government's continuing effort to strengthen the leadership structure within the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF).
According to reports, these positions are considered as a reflection of merit, longstanding service, and the government's confidence in the officers' ability to uphold national security and military professionalism.
The decision also aligns with His Excellency President Brig. (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio's ongoing commitment to ensuring that the RSLAF is equipped with capable leadership to meet emerging national and regional security challenges.
The promoted officers have played critical roles in the operations and strategic management of the armed forces, both in peacekeeping and national defence efforts. Their elevation is expected to bring renewed energy and diirection to the RSLAF's leadership structure.
