His Excellency President Julius Maada will today fulfill a promise that he made to his wife Fatima Bio three years ago that he will lead her up the altar to complete the marriage vows that they started years back with a Muslim marriage that took place in the United Kingdom.

Marriage between Christian and Muslim couples is very common in the country, with the marriage consummated in both Mosque and Church.

The solemnization of the wedding vows between President Bio and Fatima will take place today at the St. Paul Catholic Church at Regent. The reception will take place on Saturday February 22nd on a strictly by invitation basis.

The Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Freetown, Dr Tamba Charles, has confirmed that they will wed the couple as they have evidence that he has a certificate of civil divorce from his former wife Francess Bio issued in Virginia, USA.

The auspicious ceremony which is merely a renewal of vows between the couple, State House sources say will be low key. No funds have been budgeted for the event from the state purse.

Meanwhile, it has been declared that today is not a public holiday. Normal public and private business will go on as usual.
