The Corporate Affairs Team of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) has firmly dismissed reports circulating on social and traditional media alleging that a forty-foot container loaded with kush leaves, chemicals, and other substances used in the production of kush has mysteriously disappeared from the Queen Elizabeth II Quay at Cline Town, Freetown. This assertion was backed by the Sierra Leone Police Press release dated 21st October, 2025.

In an interview with The Satellite Press, the SLPHA Corporate Affairs Team expressed shock and disbelief over the circulating claims. "We honestly do not know where this story about a missing container originated", the team stated. " There is no record or report of any container vanishing at the quay".

The team further described the allegation as a fabrication designed to tarnish the reputation of the institution and its leadership. " This false claim is a figment of the

imagination of individuals attempting to discredit the hard work and integrity of our Director General, Mr. Yakuba Askia Bio, who has been instrumental in transforming the SLPHA " a team member emphasized.

The Corporate Affairs Team challenged those behind the allegations to present credible evidence to substantiate their claims. "No one will succeed in bringing down the Director General for political reason. His track record speaks for itself" they asserted.

They assured the public that no container loaded with kush or related substances has gone missing at the Water Quay, describing the viral story as a deliberate attempt by unscrupulous individuals, both at home and abroad, to mislead the public and undermine the institution’s image.
