The Directorate of the Human Resource Department of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) on Friday, 24th October 2024, effected changes in two strategic departments of the law-enforcement body with immediate effect.
The Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Mr. Mohamed K. Allieu was moved as Head of Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU), the unit handling drug trafficking, while the Deputy Head of CID, CSP Mr. Michael J.K. Laggah will now head TOCU.
TOCU also has a new Deputy in the person of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr. Abass Bangura, who was moved from the Lumley Police Division where he served as Crime Officer.
A senior policewoman, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Ms. Edna Finda Sumana, who, until late Friday evening, was Head of Operational Policy & Planning Department (OPPD), which will now be headed by CSP Allieu.
The latest changes in the SLP could not be unconnected with efforts by the law-enforcing body to accelerate the fight against Kush in the country, given that the synthetic drug is destroying young people, our future and communities.
