At the Atlantic Hotel on Lumley Beach yesterday Wednesday 16th May, 2018, Global Media Communications, a UK company incorporated in Sierra Leone dilated on the idea of introducing Accessible Online Education For All in Sierra Leone.

Speaking at the conference, one of the coordinators of Glo Media Communications, Rodney Michael said following discussions with NATCOM, SALCAB and Sierratel, the project that is aimed at giving support to the Bio government’s ‘New Direction’ free education policy can become a reality.

Rodney Michael said after conducting research, Glo Communications is confident that if endorsed by the authorities, the company will adequately perform its corporate social responsibility in providing ICT for everyone.

The proposed ICT platform, he said, will contribute to national capacity building and as well create jobs within the shortest possible time. Eric Lansana, the company’s Commercial Director said, the company started four years ago in London. Its aim is to import ICT expertise into Sierra Leone for the benefit of the job market; in that with a Glo company ICT certificate, Sierra Leoneans from home can enjoy global employment.

He continued that the company has footprints in ten countries in Africa, has an excellent service delivery track record and offers the opportunity for its graduates to compete globally and to access employment anywhere in the world.

Etto A Oneil, CMO of Glo Communications Global partner, Telecrest Inc. and USA, said they share similar philosophy with Glo Communications. They got interested in partnering with Glo after reading through President Bio’s New Direction education outlook that incorporates ICT as an essential element of diversifying education curriculum and accessibility countrywide.

Glo Communications is therefore appealing to the authorities to consider its proposal for feeding into the country’s education plan to fill a very important gap in an age of increasing use of telecommunication as an invaluable educational tool and aid. The conference was climaxed with lots of intellectual discussions on how to move the project forward.
