A joint operation of Guinean and Sierra Leonean security forces has led to the successful arrest of five fugitives wanted for their alleged roles in the failed coup of Sunday 26th November, 2023, according to a press release issued yesterday Thursday 20th June, 2024 by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education.

The five arrested fugitive are Major F.S. Kamara, Major Patrick Abu Odendeh Sesay aka PAO, Major Juana Kabba, Fatmata Koroma and Major A.I. Bangura. “All five individuals will be processed and transferred to Sierra Leone in the coming days, after which they will be interrogated by law enforcement authorities,” the release states.

It furthered that the Government of Sierra Leone extends its gratitude to our Guinean counterparts for their invaluable support and friendship.

“We also thank our citizens at home and abroad who continue to provide useful tips and information for the ongoing operations to find, apprehend and bring to justice all those responsible for the atrocities of November 26, 2023.
