His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has extended an official invitation to Dr. Samura Kamara for a National Unity and Peace Dialogue scheduled for yesterday Thursday 2nd May, 2024 at State House in Freetown. The invitation, which was conveyed through an official letter, outlined the purpose of the meeting, focusing on pertinent issues concerning the continued operations of the Tripartite Committee, particularly Resolution (3) of the Agreement for National Unity.

Resolution (3) of the Agreement established a three-way Committee comprising representatives from the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL), the All People’s Congress (APC) and Development Partners.

This Committee, operational since January 2024, is mandated to function for six months with activities slated for completion by June 2024.

With progress noted thus far, the dialogue was aimed to address any lingering or emerging concerns, including discussions surrounding the proposal for an “Expanded Committee.”

The meeting was attended by two lead negotiators, three Co-chairs and other committee members.

The venue for the pivotal dialogue, which was set for the Conference Room at the Office of the Chief Minister, State House, Freetown, commenced at 11:00 a.m.

Attendees were requested to confirm their participation with the Programme Assistant to the Chief Minister.
