The Office of the President at State House has issued a public notice announcing the immediate dissolution of the Boards of Directors of the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) and the Electricity Generation and Transmission Company (EGTC).

The public notice released by the Office of the President states that the decision to dissolve the Boards of EDSA and EGTC has been made with immediate effect.

This development comes on the heels of the President’s recent announcement regarding his decision to assume direct control of the Ministry of Energy.

It could be recalled that last week, the President revealed his decision to take direct control of the Ministry of Energy following the resignation of the Energy Minister, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Kanja Sesay.

The resignation of the Energy Minister appears to have prompted a series of strategic changes within the energy sector, culminating in the dissolution of the Boards of EDSA and EGTC.
