His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio is bracing up for an imminent cabinet reshuffle that will witness the removal of very senior government officials in MDAs and the diplomatic missions around the world in the hope of addressing the widespread incompetence and underperformance in his Government, according to very reliable stalwarts close to State House.

Many presidential appointees are reported having sleepless nights as their positions cannot be guaranteed given their poor performances in less than one year that are negatively impacting on the Bio Administration.

It is not yet clear when President Bio will do the cabinet reshuffle despite sources close to State House say the President will have to shock the entire nation when he will finally announce his new cabinet as many senior presidential appointees are to be axed.

It could be recalled that following the 24th June, 2023 national elections which the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party (SL:PP) won, President Bio dropped many prominent senior officials from his new cabinet for unexplained reasons, including the then Chief Minister, Jacob Jusu Saffa, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International relations, Dr. David John Francis, Financial Secretary, Sahr Lahai Jusu, Governor of Bank of Sierra Leone, Professor Kelfala Kallon, Minister of Development and Economic Planning, Dr. Francis Kaikai, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Memunatu Pratt, amongst numerous others.

Another imminent cabinet reshuffle will therefore not come as a surprise to many Sierra Leoneans given the incompetence and underperformance of many presidential appointees.
