Some Sierra Leoneans, including the Leader and 2018 Presidential Candidate of the Alliance Democratic Party, Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray who has virtually lost his relevance in the political platform have criticized President Bio’s creation of the cabinet post of Chief Minister.

According to Kamarainba and others, the creation of the office of Chief Minister undermines that of the Vice President, stating that it will render the VP redundant. Furthermore, Bio’s critics argue that there is no provision in the 1991 Constitution for the position.
