His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio and the Honourable Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh yesterday Tuesday 11th June paid an official visit to Orange Sierra Leone Booth during the launch of the2024 Sierra Leone Innovates Tec Summit held at the Bintumani International Conference Centre in Aberdeen, Freetown.


The 1st and 2nd Gentlemen of Sierra Leone were accompanied by the Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, Minister of Communications, Technology and Innovation, Salima Mornorma Bah, and a host of other government officials.

The President and his Vice were impressed as the Orange Sierra Leone Chief Executive Officer, Sekou Amadou Bah, showcased an impressive array of products and services highlighting the mobile service provider’s role as a key player in Sierra Leone’s telecommunications landscape.

The spotlight was on their enhanced 4G and emerging 5G networks that promise faster and more reliable internet connectivity nationwide.

The Orange Sierra Leone Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Madam Mabel Mason, disclosed that the company is a proud sponsor of the first 2024 National Tech Summit hosted by Government through the Ministry of Communications, Technology and Innovation.

She said the summit provided Orange Sierra Leone an opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to driving technological advancement and socio-economic development in Sierra Leone.

Madam Mabel Mason further spoke about the Orange Digital Centre Team at the booth that grants opportunity to young entrepreneurs to undertake free online courses.

She said Orange has innovators who will be showcasing their innovative business ideas and how far they have come with the startup money from Orange.

The Head of CSR said the B2B segment is displaying all their catalogue offers for small, medium and large enterprises at affordable prices, noting that Orange’s booth has all the necessary products and services to connect its customers nationwide and globally.

In his keynote address, His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio said the 2024 Innovates Tech Summit was a groundbreaking summit that served as a platform for all to bring together innovators to share ideas and forge new path for the better future of Sierra Leone.

The President said the summit offers the opportunity to recalibrate conductive achievement in technology and innovation as well as to showcase shared vision for a brighter and more prosperous nation.

“As a nation, we cannot afford to stand by and watch as a mere end user of technology and innovation. We must leverage the opportunity availed to enhance service delivery,” he averred.
