All accused standing trial on multiple treason counts, Amadu Koita Makalo, Mohamed Jalloh, Sgt.10020 Emmanuel Salifu Kamara, Ramatu Kamanda Conteh, Halimatu Hassan Bangura, Hassan Leigh, Mohamed Wudie, ASP Ibrahim Sesay, Tamba Yamba, Kabba Kamara, and Abdul Sorie Hassan Kamara, have been found guilty.

The 12 jurors pronounced the accused guilty on multiple counts 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20. No verdict yet on counts 13 and 14 as they concern another accused, Bai Mamoud Bangura, who is currently out on bail.

The accused were charged on treason and other offences for their alleged roles in what authorities have called an attempted coup on Sunday 26th November, 2023. The authorities described the plot as a significant threat to national unity and stability.

The first accused, Amadu Koita Makalo, was found guilty on treason and sentenced to over 300 years imprisonment on different counts.
