Information gathered from State House indicates that His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio will this week announce the long awaited names of deputy ministers in all the ministries.

This announcement will complement that of the cabinet ministers earlier announced in April. Reports further indicate that President Bio is under intense pressure from party and family circles to include in his appointment the names of party loyalists that sacrificed a lot in diverse ways to keep the party whilst it was in opposition for the past ten years.

Sources said that the President has after consultations with the party elders and other stakeholders compiled the list that he will shortly announce.

A lot of vacancies have and will be created in the civil service with the president’s announcement of redundancies of political appointments in the diplomatic service and the retirement of all public servants over the age of 60 at the end of this month.

Additionally, immediately after the announcement of deputy ministers, President Bio will effect changes in the diplomatic service and in some agencies and parastatals.
