Ahead of the 2028 general election, the Satellite Press authoritative reveal that the main opposition party in Sierra Leone, All People’s Congress (APC) is considering alternative candidates instead of Dr. Samura Kamara.

Various factors could contribute to this decision, such as internal party dynamics and among others resulting for the party may choose not to run with Dr. Samura Kamara as their presidential candidate in the 2028 general elections. According to impeccable sources from the APC party diaspora branch in London, in the United Kingdom, they could opt for a Muslim candidate who can appeal to a broader electorate or better reflect the party’s evolving priorities.

They further disclosed that the party had been contesting general elections since its establishment without giving a try to a Muslim candidate as Flag Bearer of the party.

In the lead-up to the flag bearer election in 2026 and the general election in 2028, they said the APC party often reassess their strategies to ensure they are well-positioned to win elections.
