The transformative Management of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) yesterday Tuesday 15th April, 2025 categorically informed the public, business community, shipping lines and all port users in a press release that there is currently no strike action taking place at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay in Cline Town, Freetown.
This development comes following rumours and misinformation being circulated on certain platforms that SLPHA workers were on strike action.
“The port remains fully operational and continues to handle both import and export activities without disruption,” the release states, adding, “All vessels berthing at the port are being attended to, and cargo handling operations, including discharge and delivery, are ongoing without hindrance.”
The Management assured its valued stakeholders and partners that the Authority remains committed to maintaining smooth, efficient and uninterrupted port services in accordance with international best practices.
“We encourage the public to seek verified information from the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority and refrain from spreading unsubstantiated reports that may cause unnecessary panic or confusion,” the release, which was signed by Management, concluded.
