Serious allegations have been recently made against the country’s Vice President, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, by a segment of the press who no doubt are in the pay of detractors of the Bio government.

It is clear to see that the allegations are false, baseless and have no legs to stand on but are ostensibly a well orchestrated plot to tarnish the image of VP Jalloh and by extension President Bio.

However, an aide to VP Jalloh said that far from being annoyed by this smear campaign, VP Jalloh thinks that the masks behind his attackers must find themselves better things to do as he knows that his character is impeachable on all moral and ethical fronts.

Unshaken, VP Jalloh has said that as public figure, he naturally expects these things from bad minded fellow citizens bent on distracting and discouraging him from the work at hand. “They tried with the story of him changing a big diamond from Kono to stone,” an aide close to the VP who could not hide his annoyance said. “When that failed woefully to dent Dr Jalloh’s image at home and abroad, now they have come up with this imaginary story of VP Jalloh been involved with an American in a diamond deal.”

“This is Sierra Leone where nothing unbecoming can be hidden,” the aide said. “If there is anything fishy or corrupt about VP Jalloh, it would have come out long ago into public domain during the election period days when the other side fought a very vicious no holds barred campaign against SLPP.”
As a matter of fact, VP Jalloh is a devout Muslim with very admirable academic credentials that enabled to serve in the UN System at a very high professional level where he made all the money that he needs to live a comfortable life even without being VP of Sierra Leone.

With a BA from FBC in Political Science, an MSc in Political Sciences from the University of Ibadan and a doctorate degree from the Institute of Political Sciences, University of Bordeaux in France, VP Jalloh started his professional career in the United Nations in March 2000 working as a Program Officer at the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).

Until he ventured into politics, he worked as a Senior Advisor at the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). His extensive experience allowed him to provide strategic advice in overseeing the efficient functioning of the offices and pillar of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General who also served as the Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator.

During his work as West African Analyst for the International Crisis Group, Dr. Jalloh covered Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Guinea Bissau. Among others, he was responsible for writing renowned policy reports and articles on these countries and undertook numerous advocacy trips in several countries in Europe and Africa including at the ECOWAS, African Union and the European Union in Brussels. In that capacity, he worked with the Campaign for Good Governance in Sierra Leone, to support Civil Society groups and further reinforce democratic practices in Sierra Leone.

Dr. Jalloh supported Campaign For Good Governance program on public policy analyses and research including leading the study on quality education in Sierra Leone with other various stakeholders in Sierra Leone. As a research and teaching fellow at the Institute of Political Sciences, the University of Bordeaux in France, Dr. Jalloh has also been published in several book chapters as well as in reputed international journals.

Dr. Jalloh brings with him over fifteen years of substantial experience and a track record, including distinguished service in the above national and international institutions, organizations, and countries. His hard-work and competences have earned him an international reputation as a specialist in the fields of public policy analysis, governance, development and security issues.
So who are these faceless people trying so very hard to muddy the brilliant image of such a glittering national gem, and for what purpose?
