The Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) is taking a nation-wide tough action against individuals and institutions in payment of water bills owing the company. Non payment of water bills has the potential to negatively impact institutional productivity and challenge its cash flow. As a way to address the persistent challenge, the leadership of SALWACO has assured disconnection and robust revenue collection.
Managing Director of SALWACO, Ing. George Lamin Vandi who's spearheading this drive said that all individuals and institutions that owe the company should be be made to pay in accordance with the Company’s policies. Earlier, letters were distributed to such individuals and institutions and to see that all debts are fully paid and in time.
In its last general retreat themed 'Revenue Generation for Sustainable Development,' the Company discussed strategic management and debt collection strategies to ensure that resources are adequately mobilized and in the best interest of the company. A move of this nature is result-driven; ignited as a result of the need to achieve institutional aims and aspirations.
The more individuals and institutions are able and willing to fully pay all SALWACO debts, the more the company would achieved financial independence. To fully implement the debt collection strategies, the SALWACO leadership has mandated robust revenue collection and marketing plus stakeholder engagement with a view to ensuring that the problem of debtors is minimized, if not totally eradicated.
