The Director General of Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority, Mr. Yankuba Askia Bio has given a stern warning to scammers that misinform the public about their official activities. In an exclusive interview with Mr. Yankuba A. Bio, he observed that some miscreants have taken to the notorious habit of posting false information on social and traditional media in the name of the SLPHA.
The vigilant and proactive SLPHA boss therefore advised the public not to believe such misleading misinformation, adding that anyone doing business with the Authority must always crosscheck official information about them, especially when such information is obtained from the social media.
Recently, the Management of SLPHA dissociated itself from a public notice purported to have emanated from the Authority, inviting applications for the position of casual workers. "The Authority wishes to inform the general public that this information is false, untrue, and misleading," the release states, adding, "At no time has the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority issued any invitation for applications for casual worker positions."
The Authority therefore advised the public to disregard and ignore the information in its entirety.
