The first batch of 828 Sierra Leonean Muslims that made this year’s Hajj to Mecca in Saudi Arabia will leave Jeddah international airport, after a successfully pilgrimage .

They departed this morning at 06:00 and are due to land at the Lungi international airport at 14:15. While the second batch departs tomorrow 8th September at 13:35 and due at 21:59 in Freetown..

The pilgrims departed Sierra Leone in mid August. President Bio at the Siaka Stevens Stadium addressed the pilgrims and wished them a safe journey and blessed return.

Vice President Hon. Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh successfully supervised the Hajj planning and management process with a 15-man committee in a transparent and open manner.

This year’s distribution process was open, inclusive and transparent, with the government securing twenty-eight additional spaces for pilgrims who failed to follow the proper registration procedure.
