Abdul Karim Koroma

The uncle of Abdul Karim Koroma has told The Satélite press that the family is worried that harm could have befallen him,as since October 25th 2018, his whereabouts is unknown and has not been heard from.However, his uncle is beseeching the relevant authorities that the necessary protection be provided to his nephew for fear of been killed on his returned, since he is been hunted by enraged SLPP thugs and some military officers who said they were sent for the arrest of his nephew by the government.

Abdul Karim Koroma's uncle who begged for his identity and address to be kept secret said, his nephew was a very vocal youth activist of the former president Ernest Bai Koroma led All people's Congress party(APC) government, who happens to be his uncle from 2007 untill he was sent to Bahamas by his party in June 2016 as a volunteer missionary.

He said, his nephew's campaign was permanently centerted on the current president, as he relentlessly preached about his past conduct and also described him as a coupist who betrayed the genuine course of his colleague soldiers by overthrowing the then military head of state to hand over power to his party tribesmen with the promise of regaining power after he would have retired from the military.

He said after the March election that saw the then opposition SLPP led by Julius Maada Bio now president assumed power from the defeated ruling APC party, his nephew returned to the country from Bahamas in October 2018 through Guinea in search of his fiancé and childern who were abused by some SLPP thugs but dont know where they were.

His uncle said he decided to stay in a village called Bat-Kanu in the Northern región in fear not to be spotted by assailants of SLPP.

He said surprisingly on the 25th October, 2018, some military personel and thugs of the SLPP stormed the township where he was hidding displaying his picture in search of him, and asking people in the village if anybody sees him or knows his whereabouts.

They also went to the chiefs compound where he was hidding and search his residence.

His uncle said everybody was panic and fear seeing military personel and thugs brandishing LMG's and other fatal weapons at the township of Bat-Kanu.

Hence, he was advised to leave the township or country and find a safer place for his life.

He had to escape from the country on that fateful day of 25th October 2018.
