Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh today Monday 26th August 2019 received a high powered delegation from Qatar.
The delegation was in town to explore cooperation with Sierra Leone in the areas of health, education and economic development through the Qatar Development Fund.


Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mark Reiff, Programme Director, Geneva Global and Fahad Al- Deraimi, Head of Delegation, Qatar Fund for Development said he was very was pleased with the warm reception received from the government.

He revealed that they have been working with their local partners in Sierra Leone to identify potential areas of intervention in the promotion of development in the country.

He expressed thanks to the New Direction government for the collaboration and sharing of useful information that would aid the development of Sierra Leone.
Welcoming the delegation on behalf of the President, Vice President Dr. Juldeh Jalloh said the Government is very delighted to host them, adding that he recently met with the Prime Minister of Qatar where issues around the hajj were discussed.

He noted that the government is very pleased to strengthen existing bilateral relationship between Sierra Leone and Qatar and informed the delegation that the president is currently out of country attending the TICAD Conference in Japan.

Earlier, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Solomon Jamiru Esq said the mission is essential to look into potential areas of intervention including health, education and economic development.

He said the mission is also informed about government's medium term development plan 2019-23 which comprises eight cluster areas including human capital development, health, domestic revenue mobilization, among others.
