As Socfin Agricultural Company partners with the government in fulfillment of the New Direction flagship Free Quality Education project, Universal Venture has in collaboration embarked on a school building project for the Kpangba Malen community.

The three class room structure with an office and store he said will be ready in two months’ time.

The Project Manager encouraged the people of Malen Chiefdom to continue to hold Socfin in high esteem; noting that with Socfin’s targeted community enhancement projects, the chiefdom’s aspirations can be achieved.

The Project Manager pointed out that their presence in Malen Chiefdom was as a result of the ongoing extension of the Socfin Oil Mill, adding that they are helping to carry out concrete work worth two hundred and fifty million Leones that will benefit the community. He recalled that Universal Venture about a year ago donated thirty million Leones to Malen Chiefdom which was used to provide books and education materials for schools for which both Socfin and the people of Malen were grateful.

The donation he went on was part of cash payment by Socfin for a contract awarded to Universal Venture.

He noted that that the company’s CEO, Mr. Prince S. Allieu takes pride in giving helping hand to communities they operate. He encouraged others to copy such example of humanitarian assistance to the less privileged.

Earlier, the Universal Venture CEO reassured the people of furnishing the school and that further assistance will be made in the form of payments of stipends to two teachers upon handing over of the finished building to the people of Kpangba.

Addressing the gathering, the Section Chief Decker Amara, Town Chief Samuka Joe and Madam Hawa Amara all profusely showered blessings on Universal Venture, Socfin and the local Chiefs including Hon. PC BVS Kebbie for bringing to them needed developments; particularly learning institutions.

They promised to encourage their children to treat their education with the seriousness it deserves. Significantly, the people prayed for peace and tranquility in Malen Chiefdom and further called on Socfin’s detractors to give peace a chance; noting that development remains their utmost responsibility.

They encouraged stakeholders, especially local Chiefs and Socfin, not to relent in their ambition to bring development into Malen Chiefdom.

On their part, Socfin representatives: Liasion Manager Mr. Joseph Belmoh, Mr. E.C. Kuyateh, Mr Patrick Alpha thanked Universal Venture for their collaboration. They expressed hope that the school project will join the lineup of schools built and furnished by Socfin.
