Socfin Agricultural Company Sierra Leone has handed over a newly built, furnished four classrooms building with an office and toilet for the community people of Kotumahun which houses the twenty seven million dollars oil mill considered the largest in this part of the world.


The construction of the Kotumahun School follows the constructions of school buildings for Sinjoe, Bendu, Mallay; repair of Malen Junior Secondary school which is been given a Senior Secondary School status; provision of scholarships to 252 pupils for four straight years amounting to one hundred and two million Leones.

Handing over the facilities at Kotumahun, amid cultural dancing, the Speaker of Malen Chiefdom, Chief SR Moiguah lavished praises on Socfin. He encouraged true land owners of Malen to continue to hold Socfin in the highest esteem, noting that Socfin is the stone which the builder previously rejected only for it to be used as the cornerstone.

The Chiefdom Speaker warned all and sundry to desist from desperate politicians who can't do a thing but only incite the population for their selfish political gains whilst abandoning the youths as soon as elections are over.

Various speakers drawn from the Pujehun District Council, the district Education authorities and other relevant stakeholders all commended Socfin for championing the course of HE President Bio and government.

They encouraged the people of Malen to continue to cooperate with Socfin for better development aspirations.
Management and staff of Socfin including the dynamic major shareholder cum board member Gerben Haringsma , General Manager Philip Tonks made passionate assurances in support of their relentless and impressive CSR impressively demonstrated in the repair and construction of good road network, cultivation of IVS and Boli rice farms, construction of toilets, water wells and community barriers, granting of micro credit loans, amongst many others .
