As political tension always mounts towards the bye-election at Constituency 110 in the Western Rural district slated for Saturday 12th December this year, many people are speculating stiff contest under the newly appointed Chief Electoral Commissioner, Mohamed Kenewui Konneh.

Majority of the masses believe that this parliamentary election is a big test case for the new appointee if he will actually deliver to the expectation and confidence of the people pending the most anticipated multitier election come 2023.

Currently, the two main political parties the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party and the main opposition All People’s Congress Party will soon earnestly engage in putting final touches to emerge as victor to legitimately represent the people in the constituency in Parliament.

Since other political parties might have decided to boycott the election due to certain circumstances beyond their control, the two main political parties (APC & SLPP) will be demonstrating the same zest and commitment in salvaging the menace in the constituency.

However, many believe that Kadie Davies of the APC and Josephine Jackson of the ruling SLPP will still continue to run as their candidates as they are women of the people, for the people and with the people.

Kadie Davies of the APC emerged as victor to become Member of Parliament in 2018 election and served in Parliament for several months before being removed there through election petition at the Court of Law by her arch rival, Josephine Jackson of the SLPP.

Under the predecessor of Mohamed Kenewui Konneh, Mohamed N’fa Alie Conteh conducted bye - election for the same constituency last year where 97 percent of the result had been collated with 3 percent remaining saw Kadie Davies leading by a small margin.

The election was nullified as a result of violence that erupted in certain polling stations with election materials destroyed that affected the validity of the overall result.
