His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio yesterday Thursday 6th July, 2023 directed the Clerk of Parliament, Hon. Paran Umar Tarawally, to convene the Sixth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone on Thursday 13th July, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chamber of Parliament, pursuant to Subsection (1) of Section 86 of the Constitution of Sierra Leone (Act No. 6 of the 1991).

In a public notice, the Clerk of Parliament therefore ordered that “all Members of Parliament Elect are hereby informed to attend the Sitting of Parliament on the said date.”

The public notice also reminded Members of Parliament Elect: “Pursuant to Section 83 of the Constitution of Sierra Leone (Act No. 6 of 1991) every Member of Parliament duly elected at the General Elections of 24th June 2023 shall, before taking his seat in Parliament, take and subscribe the Oath of Office for Members of Parliament as prescribed in the Third Schedule of the said Constitution on Thursday 13th July 2023.”

The Clerk of Parliament therefore invited all Members of Parliament to attend the Induction Programme scheduled in Parliament for Wednesday 12th July 2023 at 10:00a.m. in Committee Room One, Parliament Building, Tower Hill, Freetown.
