Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh on Thursday 10th - Friday 11th August, 2023 inaugurated City Mayors/ District Council Chairpersons in Bo City, Sothern Region, and Kenema City, Eastern Region respectively.

The inauguration ceremony was the Fifth Council of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone where the second gentleman administered oaths to the newly elected Mayors/Chairpersons and Councillors as dictated in Section 72 of the amended Local Government Act of 2022.

In his keynote address, VP Juldeh Jalloh called on the councils to work in tandem with the Central Government to deliver President Bio’s big five manifesto.

He expressed Government’s priority to invest hugely in agriculture to feed Sierra Leoneans thereby reducing rice importation and ensuring food sufficient in the country.

The newly elected Mayors/Chairpersons in their respective statements have pledged support to work with the Government in a bid to actualize its manifesto commitments to the citizenry.
