The main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) Northwest Regional Organizing Secretary, Abubakarr Konteh aka DJ Boxx, was at the weekend extradited from neighbouring Guinea to Sierra Leone.

His extradition comes following his recent arrest in the capital Conakry, Guinea, where he had reportedly been hiding after the Sunday 26th November, 2023 coup attempt in the capital Freetown.

The APC Northwest Regional Organizing Secretary was in handcuff when the Guinean authorities handed him over to the Sierra Leonean authorities.

When DJ Boxx was recently arrested in Conakry, the Ministry of Information and Civic Education issued a press release confirming his apprehension in connection with the attempted coup on 26th November 2023, as well as his alleged involvement in illicit substance trading, notably the synthetic lethal drug Kush within Sierra Leone.

DJ Boxx’s dual role as a prominent figure within the main opposition APC and his alleged drug trafficking have drawn significant attention.

His extradition to Sierra Leone signals a turning point in the ongoing investigation into the November 2023 coup attempt and the illicit trade of narcotic drugs.Upon his return, DJ Boxx will be interrogated by the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) as a manifestation of the seriousness with which the Sierra Leonean authorities are approaching the matter.
