Investigation mounted by this medium at Ministry of Labour and Social Security has uncovered that Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) exonerated on human trafficking allegations making rounds in local tabloids.
The largest and leading mining company in Sierra Leone, LRMG has been subjected to blackmailing recently with no factual sources to substantiate their claims against the company.
The local tabloids claiming sources close to the Office of National Security (ONS) informing them of the level of illegal Chinese nationals that are entering the Tonkolili Mine spearheaded by LRMG using the Pepel port.
Such allegations are not only baseless and unfounded, they are also aimed at tarnishing the hard-earned reputation of the Chinese mining company that has invested millions of United States Dollars in mining activities in Sierra Leone.
As a genuinely registered mining company in Sierra Leone, all LRMG’s foreign nationals including the Chinese have their residential and work permits and at no time has the Chinese mining company employed illegal Chinese nationals at the Tonkolili Mine using the Pepel port as claimed by the so-called local tabloid.
