The Grassroot supporters of the main opposition, All People’s Congress party described former Deputy Leader and Running Mate, Hon. Chernoh Ramadan Maju Bah popularly known as Chericoco’s stepped down as betrayal of his boss, the leader and 2023 flag bearer of the party, Dr. Samura Kamara.
According to them, Chericoco’s stepped down as the Deputy Leader has sent shockwaves through their political circle in the APC party.
Impeccably sources disclosed that the discord between the two was all started long ago when Hon. Chericoco was re-selected as Running Mate to Dr. Kamara in the 2023 general election.

Without consulting or seeking approval from the two times flag bearer of the main opposition party, Chericoco stepped down from his key role in Kamara's camp, leaving supporters confused and opponents speculating about internal discord.

As rumours spread like wildfire, majority of the APC party stalwarts said the once solid relationship between the two began to unravel in the public eye as Chericoco’s decision was seen as a strategic move to align himself with rival forces within their party, prompting questions about loyalty and ambition.

Since he recently stepped down, Samura Kamara, a seasoned politician, remained silent, refusing to comment on the unfolding drama, which only fueled further speculation. As media outlets dissected the situation, reports emerged that Chericoco had been nursing and positioning himself for a possible independent run in the 2028 flag bearer race in the APC party.

Majority of party stalwarts intimated this medium that the betrayal was undeniable, seeing Chericoco’s stepped down from his Deputy Leader role.

They further perceived his move as a calculated backstab rather than a principled stand which most of the APC party’s supporters believe.

They said that Dr. Samura is still fighting for electoral justice in the 2023 election when his deputy quit the role at the peak of the campaign.
