Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, former Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, member of parliament from Pujehun District and a renowned philanthropist, has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to education and youth empowerment. 
 
In a vibrant ceremony held at Fourah Bay College (FBC), Hon. Tunis unveiled several impactful projects, including a newly constructed entrance and exit gate, a modern bus stop, scholarships for underprivileged students, and a generous cash donation of Ten thousand dollars($10,000).
 
These infrastructure projects, carried out in collaboration with the FBC Students’ Union and the SLPP FBC Students’ Executive, aim to enhance the college’s learning environment and ease students’ mobility. 
 
The ceremony was attended by a cross-section of students, faculty members, and administrative staff, all eager to celebrate the milestones achieved through Hon. Tunis’s support.
 
Dr. Walker, a respected lecturer and the program’s Master of Ceremony, described Hon. Tunis as a visionary leader whose generosity continues to inspire. 
 
The Student Union President, Alfred Sesay, and the SLPP FBC Students’ Executive Leader commended Hon. Tunis for his consistent support. 
 
They highlighted his role in funding tuition fees for several students who were unable to pay their fees and overseeing key projects such as the bus stop and entrance gate.
 
Deputy Registrar of FBC, Mr. Brima Bah, expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Tunis for his contributions, encouraging students to take ownership of the new infrastructure, regardless of their political affiliations. 
 
Mr. Bah also seized the opportunity to request additional support for the pavement of the campus and the installation of solar lights to improve safety and accessibility.
 
In his keynote address, Hon. Tunis praised President Julius Maada Bio’s focus on education and affirmed his alignment with the government’s Human Capital Development Agenda.
 
 He also shared insights into his ongoing philanthropic initiatives across Sierra Leone, including scholarships offered by his foundation to underprivileged students. 
 
Responding to the administration’s appeal, he announced a cash donation of $10,000 to fund the pavement of the campus and the installation of solar lighting.
 
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt presentation by beneficiaries of Hon. Tunis’s scholarship program, who are now at law school, followed by the official unveiling of the bus stop and entrance gate. 
The event reaffirmed Hon. Tunis’s dedication to fostering educational excellence and improving the lives of Sierra Leonean students.
