Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has reiterated Sierra Leone’s commitment to tackling gender-based violence (GBV) and improving healthcare delivery during a keynote address at a conference held as part of the global 16 Days of Activism campaign. Speaking at the Catco International Hotel in Freetown, VP Juldeh Jalloh highlighted the government’s focus on addressing the interconnected challenges of GBV and healthcare, emphasizing the critical need to protect women and children while ensuring access to essential services.
 
The Vice President also underscored the importance of empowering women and girls to build a more equitable society, emphasizing that while strides have been made, much work remains to be done. He outlined the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen maternal health, expand healthcare access in underserved areas, and combat gender-based violence through legal protections and social programmes.
