The DAQVAH Charity Foundation, an Islamic relief and development agency that is committed to cater for vulnerable people, especially women and children. Since its establishment in 2015, the foundation has embarked on several charity activities including the "Empty Bowl Challenge" that is done every Ramadan. The Ramadan feeding program is part of DAQVAH’s wider outreach efforts to strengthen community bonds, uphold faith-based values, and support those most in need, through the generosity of its members and donors.

On the 18th of February, 2026, the foundation kicked off this year's implementation of the Empty Bowl Challenge Ramadan Feeding Program at Rogberay Ka Bangura village, in Port Loko District.

Bringing relief and joy to vulnerable households, the foundation donated bags of rice, bundles of water, and cash support to fifteen households, enabling them to observe Iftar and Suhur during the holy month. Key beneficiaries of this support were imams, community elders and widows.

This initiative reflects DAQVAH’s mission of “putting smiles on the faces of the poor and needy,” ensuring that even those who struggle to afford basic necessities can partake in the blessings of Ramadan.

Speaking at the event, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Jalloh, the Chief Executive Officer of DAQVAH, highlighted the spirit of compassion behind the gesture: “We know it is not much, but please accept it as these donations are given to us by our amazing members and donors to help reach out to you.

All we ask is that you make dua for these donors and the Foundation, and also break fast with the water and food provided to ensure they have the reward.”

Pa Abdul Karim Bangura, a resident thanked DAQVAH and expressed that said: “Since our existence in this community, this is the first time we have had such kind gestures. We are grateful.”

Imam Mohamed Sesay added: “May Allah bless this Foundation, and may Allah give us the Barakah. This is the first time we are seeing this kind of goodness, and may Allah bless DAQVAH and the donors.”
