The recent burglary at Justice Biobele Georgewill’s residence, one of the Commissioners in the three Commissions of Inquiry. has left the two Commissioners and State Prosecutors of the ongoing Commissions of Inquiry worriied and frightened.

One of the lead prosecutors, lawyer Robert Kowa, in a brief interview with The Satellite press yesterday described the robbery as a serious threat to the entire state prosecution team.

This, he said, clearly shows that their roles at the hearings have made them a target to certain section of the population, hence called on the appropriate authorities for improved security to avoid further occurrence.

It appears to him that there was some fishy game played since the robbers specifically took away his laptop containing most of his judge’s note, records and the commission work and a few slippers leaving much more valuable items in his well-furnished NASSIT residence at Goderich in the west end of Freetown.

Though it is still not clear as to why the police guards that were supposed to be on duty were not around, lawyer Kowa said Biobele’s residence was highly secured and restricted to the public.

On Monday 21st July 2019, in the absence of some night guards, robbers broke into the residence of the Nigerian Judge, Justice Biobele Georgewill through the window and took away his laptop containing his commissions work and few slippers only in a well-furnished house with plasma TV sets and other valuable items.

The housebreak came a week after the Commissions put out a public notice calling on all government officials who served under ex-President Koroma government to declare their assets latest August 10th 2019.

Meanwhile, police have confirmed the arrest and detention of seven officers, including the two night guards that failed to report for duty without any excuse pending investigation.
