A memo from the Director of Human Resource Management in the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Aiah Edward Samadia dated 31st July 2019 has ordered the transfer of three senior ranks police officers from one unit or division to another.


According to the memo, AIG Saidu Barkie Allah Jalloh is transferred from Strategic Support and Coordinating Officer, Police Headquarters to Regional Commander North East;

Superintendent Osman Kamara from Central Division in Freetown as OPS to Goderich Division Local Unit Commander (LUC) replacing the suspended LUC, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Bandabla.

Assistant Superintendent John Bai Sankoh from Moyamba Division, General Duty, to Central Central Division in Freetown as Operations Officer replacing the former OPS Officer there who istransferred as LUC at Goderich Division.

The transfer order cannot be unconnected with the suspension of two senior rank officers including AIG Freetown West, T.M Lahai and CSP Bandabla, former LUC Goderich Division.

The head of the Complaint Discipline Internal Investigation Department (CDIID), ASP Christiana James Cole has confirmed that the two suspended officers are presently subjected to investigation following two major incidents-the attack on Justice Biobele Georgewill’s residence at Goderich and the APC and SLPP clash in the Hamilton community.

This transfer of senior rank officers is one of the many orders made in the SLP over the period of one year.

The transfer order has been copied to all Directors, REGPOLs, Freetown-West, South and North East, LUC Central, Moyamba Goderich Divisions, Heads of Communications & Audit, Staff Officer, Police Headquarters among others.
