The Chief Minister, Prof. David Francis has said “Hon. Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh is an intellectual Vice President”; the first that Sierra Leone has ever produced.
He made the statement during the launching of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) on Tuesday 13th August 2019 at the Miatta Conference Centre, Youyi Building in Freetown.

The Chief Minister made the comment after the Vice President skilfully responded to the statement of the President of Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), Ahmed Nasralla that “ Four areas of concern that need to be addressed in any corruption discussion: the lack of political will, a looming shadow government, sacred cows and Salone’s kickback culture. Corruption has destroyed our past, present and future generation”.

The President of SLAJ focused on the four areas of concern in corruption discussion quoting political scientists on the challenges in combating corruption in Africa countries and Sierra Leone is not an exception.

VP Juldeh Jalloh in his response before making the keynote address and launching of NACS 2019-2023 cited renowned political scientists to back up his claim that the emergence of state institutions has changed the narrative compared to those days in Africa many years ago.

In the fight against corruption in Sierra Leone, he maintained that gone are the days when lip service was given, pointing out that this government cannot afford to lose focus in this direction.

He said that they have demonstrated high level of commitment to the people of Sierra Leone and partners, adding that this government is very serious to fight corruption in the country.

He noted that NACS will also build ethical and accountable governance that promotes zero tolerance for corruption, inspire integrity and adherence to the rule of law.
