Under the able leadership of the Minister of Transport and Aviation, Kabineh Kallon and the Director General of the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority Moses Tiffa Bayoh, robust measures have been put in place to ensure that the Lungi airport which officially reopened yesterday and will start receiving flights tomorrow is safe for arriving and departing passengers.
In consultation with NACOVERC and the Ministry of Health, all inbound passenger must carry with them a negative COVID-19 result issued no longer than 72 hours before departure.
At the airport, all passengers will be subject to a mandatory covid-19 test with health officials collecting temperature, basic health screening data and seat number.
Children under two year and airline crew are exempt with the latter adhering to public health protocols.
All passengers are strictly advised to observe all public health protocols – proper constant use of face mask, hand washing/sanitizing, observing social distancing which apply also to all VIP passengers.
Departing passengers must also present covid-19 negative result 72 hours before flight.
All departing passengers shall go through the thermal screening/disinfectant tunnel at the airport’s departure entrance. The same protocols apply to all VIP passengers.
