In a bid to enhance the efficiency of its operations, the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority SLRSA on Saturday September 28, 2020 organized a one day retreat for all heads of the authority’s operational offices across the country.
The one day retreat which was chaired by the Director of Licenses Madam Hassanatu Mansaray looked into the activities, successes and challenges of the various stations.
The Executive Director Mr. Ibrahim Sannoh in his key note address admonished heads of station to be diligent in their work in other to improve revenue generation and safety. He admonished them to be honest and sincere in their operations.
The Executive Director outlined the plans of management to improve both staff emolument and the working environment, but quickly pointed out that, that can only be possible with improvement in revenue mobilization.
In another development, on Monday September 28, 2020 the Deputy Executive Director, Mr. James Baggie Bio took heads of stations on a conducted tour at the ongoing building site of the proposed SLRSA headquarters situated on Africanus Road in the Eastern Part of Freetown.
Mr. Bio intimated that up to 70% of the work had been completed and that management had a timeline of January 2021 to move into the new office. He reiterated call for heads of stations to engage in extensive stakeholders engagement as this will broaden the operations of the authority and thus leading to high levels of compliance in revenue generation and Road Safety intervention.
The heads of stations were impressed with work done so far and made commitment to the Deputy Executive Director that they would do everything possible to help management complete the project within the stipulated period.
The Director of Safety and Enforcement Mr. Augustine Kaitongi expressed his delight for the new structure as there was provision for a gym facility for all safety corps to help build their physic.
