Orange Sierra Leone, the biggest and widest network in the country, last Friday 2nd June, 2023 updated the media on its operations this year at the Orange Head Office in Freetown.


The different Departments and Units of the company highlighted their key activities that are geared towards customers’ satisfaction and Corporate Social Responsibility to the public.

In his keynote address, the Orange Deputy Chief Director, Bollor T. Sesay, underscored the important role of the media to the successes of Orange Sierra Leone as a business.

The Deputy Chief Director noted that the media landscape of Sierra Leone has undergone tremendous changes over the past few decades, noting that the emergence of new technologies has opened up opportunities for more diverse and vibrant media.

Mr. Sesay said for Orange Sierra Leone, the media plays an important role in building brand awareness, connecting with customers and achieving business goals.
"First, the media is crucial for promoting Orange's products and services to the public and that Orange relies on various media channels such as television, radio, print and online platforms to advertise its products and services,” the Deputy Chief Director averred, adding, “This media exposure helps inform potential customers about what Orange has to offer."

He reiterated that the media helps the company to engage directly with existing customers and to also address any issues they may have.

“Customers can reach out to Orange through social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. The company also uses its website and customer service hotlines to interact with customers and resolve their queries in a timely manner.

Through the media, Orange can monitor customer sentiment and gauge satisfaction with its products. The media serves as a platform for Orange to promote its brand values and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. Orange often partners with media companies to raise awareness on social causes that it supports, such as financial inclusion, women's empowerment, and youth development. This positive publicity through the media helps strengthen Orange's reputation and brand image in the eyes of the public,”Mr. Sesay said.

He emphasized that the media plays an integral role in Orange Sierra Leone's business by enabling marketing and advertising, facilitating customer service and boosting the company's image and credibility.

The Deputy Chief Director furthered that the company will continue to leverage different media channels creatively and effectively to stay relevant and connected with customers.

Orange General Secretary, Danetta Younge, recognizes the significance of the media and appreciates its commitment for accurate, reliable and timely news to the public about the company.

She pointed out the media dedication in providing up-to-date information has been very critical that the people of the country are well informed about Orange products and the positive impact they are making today in society.

The Secretary General said as a company, they believe and uphold freedom of the press and keep members informed about their values.

Danetta Younge reiterated that they were ready to provide accurate news to their customers through the media. “In this bridge of social media and fake news, we can still turn to trusted news and organizations to provide us with unbiased and fact-based reporting,” the Secretary General concluded.
