The Management of Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) on Monday 8th July, 2024 amicably resolved the issues it had with some aggrieved workers at Pepel in Port Loko District.

Speaking to The Satellite, the Head of Media, David Vee, averred that the aim of the mining company is not to exploit Sierra Leone or the local workers but to help strengthen China’s bilateral relation with the country as well as to create a good working relationship with Sierra Leonean workers.

The Head of Media reiterated that the Leone Rock in Sierra Leone is like the bilateral relation between this country and the People’s Republic of China, which he described as a win-win situation.

However, David Vee in no uncertain terms condemned the negative publications about the company in some sections of the media, noting that they as a company loath negative publicity but believe in resolving issues with their workers amicably.

He averred that despite they are doing many good things in the country, some sections of the media don’t report about them; instead, they are only interested in reporting negative things about the company.
