His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has remarked that every party member must know that only the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has the authority to choose the next leader of the party and no one else.

President Bio made the remarks when he was addressing the dangerous and irresponsible statement by a member of the party, Abdul Kadiru Kaikai, who said in a video that went viral on social media that if he does not become President of Sierra Leone in 2028, he will mastermind and bring a big war in Sierra Leone far worse than anybody is expecting.

Speaking at the Tuesday 23rd July, 2024 Town Hall Meeting at the Freetown Bintumani International Conference Centre at Aberdeen, President Bio emphasized that what Abdul Kadiru Kaikai uttered does not represent them as a political party and that is why they have suspended him.

He furthered that the party will scrutinize him and recommend if he still deserves to continue being a party member,
The President emphasized the importance of peace for national unit, adding that no nation can develop without peace.

The SLPP Leader therefore appealed to Sierra Leoneans not to allow a few idiots to disturb our peaceful nation, noting that as long as he is in governance, they will continue to make Sierra Leone very peaceful and governable for the citizenry.

The President gave Abdul Kadiru Kaikai good dressing down by saying, “It is bad to waste respected titles. I am a Chief, and I don’t know where Kadiru Kaikai got his own Chief title from. Let’s just call him Mr. Kadiru Kaikai.”
