One of the most vibrant female stalwarts in the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Mrs. Ann Marie Baby Harding, was on Saturday 22nd February, 2025 overwhelmingly elected Chairperson of the SLPP in Constituency 081, which comprises Wonde, Jaiama and Bongor Chiefdoms in the Bo District.

Mrs. Harding polled 21 votes while her opponent scored 9 votes in a very transparent election.
Contrary to wide apprehension that Mrs. Harding would lean on the influence of her husband Dr. Prince Alex Harding, current National Chairman of the SLPP, her people literally pleaded with her to take over the political leadership of her home for the good of her people whose support for SLPP has remained unfettered and undiluted.
Addressing the mammoth gathering after her landslide victory, Mrs. Harding congratulated her colleagues for the peace and decorum maintained throughout the process and assured them that in the new Executive, her leadership would be consultative, transformative and purposeful to advance the course of SLPP and the development aspirations of her people. She expressed her gratitude to family members, friends, the party leadership, and traditional authorities for their love and commitment towards her ambition and the SLPP in particular.
Mrs. Harding has impeccably served the SLPP for nearly 25 years in various capacities and her role in the party has been very critical to the party's success since 1996 to date. She won the election in the absence of her darling husband Dr. Prince Alex Harding aka the Bullet.
