His Excellency President Brig. (Rtd) Julius Maada Bio has reminded various political leaders in Sierra Leone of their goal to work on things that will help project the good image of the country instead of calling on external factors to demoralize State institutions.

According to the President, who was addressing the National Executive of the Women’s Forum yesterday 4th July, 2023, “I have fought for the peace and democracy of this country both in the bush
and on the roundtable.”

President Bio reiterated that he was one of the great pillars to restore peace and democracy which Sierra Leoneans are now enjoying, adding that he will continue to ensure that peace flourishes despite all obstacles.

He averred that the women represented the faces of all the sixteen districts in the country, noting that as a President, he has shown strong commitment to championing women’s activities that have to promote the women empowerment both in governance and domestic affairs.

The National Executives of Women’s Forum, whose members were at the State House conference room to formally congratulate President Bio on his re-election, pledged their continuous support to the President to build a better Sierra Leone for the citizenry.

In another development, President of the Russian Federation, President Vladimir Putin, has sent his congratulatory message to President Bio on his re-election and reminded him of the traditional relationship that has existed between the two nations for decades now.

The International Community of African Ambassadors to Sierra Leone on Monday 3rd July, 2023 paid a courtesy call on President Bio at State House to congratulate him on his re-election and pledged their support to him.
